What

Fractured Reality is an Ultra Long Term RolePlay based in Second Life.

A crashed spaceship serving as a dimensional crossroads where fragments of different realities have merged. The environment is paradoxical - simultaneously dangerous and peaceful, scientific and supernatural. Multiple factions create diverse narratives within this unstable reality where the laws of physics are inconsistent and boundaries between locations can shift unexpectedly.

Whether you're a ship's scientist, a native of an absorbed dimension, or someone who simply "walked in," your story matters here. Bring your story, lose your mind - but be prepared to find it again, perhaps transformed by the experience.

Premise

Fractured Reality exists as a dimensional anomaly where fragments of different times, places, and realities have collided and merged into a single, unstable world. The central hub of this reality is a crashed spaceship - the *Fractured Reality* - equipped with an experimental drive that combined temporal displacement, quantum phasing, and space folding technologies.

The ship was commissioned by SumokuCorp and designed by chief scientist Fmagick Zymurgy. When activated, the drive was meant to transport the vessel across vast distances instantaneously, but something went catastrophically wrong. Instead of arriving at its destination, the ship became trapped between dimensions, causing its various sections to scatter across multiple realities while remaining connected through quantum entanglement.

This fractured existence has created a landscape where the laws of physics are inconsistent and reality itself is malleable. Buildings and entire regions from different eras and dimensions coexist in impossible arrangements - a 1920s Chicago building might stand next to a futuristic structure from an unknown timeline, with a jungle river flowing between them.

The inhabitants of this world are as varied as its geography. Most arrived through accidental displacement - pulled from their own realities by the quantum fluctuations generated by the damaged drive. Many have lost their memories or arrived with fragmented recollections of their former lives. Others are original crew members of the *Fractured Reality* ship, now trapped alongside their unexpected guests.

The world operates on its own unique rules. Time flows differently in various regions, and the boundaries between locations can shift unexpectedly. The currency is Dukets, which can be earned through various means including hunting, mining, or participating in local contests. While the City has established laws and governance, areas outside its limits operate under "wild west" principles where survival often depends on wit, strength, and adaptability.

Despite its dangers, Fractured Reality offers unprecedented opportunities for those who can navigate its complexities. The dimensional instability has created pockets where reality can be influenced through intention or specific technologies, such as the mysterious Iconic Red Buttons that allow users to temporarily influence others' behaviors.

For the anthropologists, scientists, and adventurers who find themselves here, Fractured Reality represents both a prison and a laboratory - a place where the fundamental nature of reality can be studied firsthand, provided one can survive long enough to document it.
