Story

My name is Brandi Questi. Publicly, I'm a freelance DJ for high end customers. Privately, I'm a "contract technology asset acquisition specialist"—industrial spy, tech thief, call it what you will.

I was basically kidnapped from one job to do another. I pickup my last job from the drop, just like always, no problems. I had been hired to play a gig at some house in the middle of nowhere. The target was a metal suitcase with a serial number on it. So I show up at the place in full Gothic Barbie gear, everyone loves it, after a few hours I'm ready for a break and the bodyguard for the guest of honor motions me over to the old mans table. He palms me $1000 and "guides" me in to the seat next to the old man who hands me a drink. First words out of his mouth were "Twenty Five Million Dollars." I took a drink.

When I woke up I was redressed, don't know how that happened, and was with a small set of critical supplies and a second drop packet. This one could be even more interesting.

I finally managed to get the barcodes for Diedra and Amanda from Suave. I did not ask him how he got them. Probably best I don't know. With those codes and the remaining parts I got from Tetsuo, I was able to put the transponder back together and activate it. Activating the transponder managed to give us an opening to get back to the ship. But I'm not sure that is a good thing, it seems to be stuck in some kind of quantum fracture. On the bright side there seems to be plenty of opportunity for an enterprising woman to make a profit, even here.

I've been exploring this fractured reality since the transponder brought us here. The ship is a fascinating maze of corridors and systems, but I spend most of my time in the city where the real opportunities lie.

I've established connections with various locals, including some who might be useful for my more... specialized activities. The Pink Motel seems to be a particularly lucrative spot for gathering information and making discreet exchanges.

I've also been keeping tabs on certain key players - Diedra with her medical expertise, Amanda with her anthropological knowledge, and Tetsuo with his mysterious research. Understanding them might prove valuable for future acquisitions.
